Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vanka Ivanow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kit Jarles!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanow throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jarles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ivanow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jarles uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ivanow.
Ivanow throws a hook to the side of Jarles's head but Jarles sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jarles throws a counter combo.
Ivanow fails to land with a series of punches.
Jarles scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Vanka Ivanow has been cut.
Ivanow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ivanow lands in his opponent's guard.
Ivanow is stalling in the full guard.
Ivanow postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ivanow drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ivanow seems to have locked his on tight now - Jarles screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ivanow, as he picks up the win!
