Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Biles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Kalawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Biles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Kalawa! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Biles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kalawa circles away. Kalawa throws a low kick but Biles moves out of range easily. Biles tries to counter with a takedown but Kalawa is quick to defend against it. Biles tries for a takedown but Kalawa circles away easily and Kalawa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Biles shoots for a double leg takedown but Kalawa sprawls well. He's pushed Biles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Biles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Biles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kalawa is trying to defend but Biles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kalawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Biles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalawa has managed to get both his arms back between Biles's legs - danger averted.

Biles isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kalawa stacks Biles on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kalawa! Biles manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kalawa's best efforts. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Biles will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Biles uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kalawa. Nice sprawl there from Kalawa as Biles shoots in. Kalawa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Biles to score an easy takedown into full guard. Biles scoring with some ground and pound. Kalawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Biles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Biles throwing strikes from guard but Kalawa blocks nicely. Biles loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Biles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Biles postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kalawa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Biles. Biles throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kalawa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Biles postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kalawa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Biles, into his guard. Kalawa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Biles has his foot on Kalawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kalawa works his way back into a safe position though. Ryan Biles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Biles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kalawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kalawa wants to control from the top but Biles keeps moving. Kalawa wants to stand but Biles has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalawa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kalawa leaves Biles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Biles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Biles shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kalawa defends it nicely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kalawa throws a looping overhand right but Biles ducks down to avoid it. Biles changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kalawa misses with a few strikes there.

George Kalawa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kalawa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Biles. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kalawa stuffs the takedown attempt from Biles. Biles gets slowly back to his feet. Kalawa appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalawa looks to score with a jab to the body but Biles is just out of range. Kalawa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Biles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kalawa counters with a nice uppercut. No luck for Biles with that takedown attempt. Kalawa looks to land a right hand but Biles moved out of range. Biles tries to bum rush Kalawa with a series of wild strikes but Kalawa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Biles shoots and misses and Kalawa counters with a right hand to the body. Kalawa swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kalawa's coach down at Beat Down Under was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kalawa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Kalawa lands with an uppercut that bounces Biles off the cage and back into range. A big left from Kalawa misses. Kalawa fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Biles checks it well. Biles appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Kalawa looks to land a combination but Biles avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Biles drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Biles is rocked! Kalawa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Biles is able to avoid easily. Biles on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Oh Biles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Biles checks a low kick from Kalawa. Biles seems to have got his legs back now. Kalawa throws an overhand right that lands on Biles's shoulder, as Biles tries to avoid the shot. Biles staying out of range there. A swing and a miss from Kalawa. Biles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kalawa counters with a stiff right hand. Biles uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kalawa. Kalawa throws a jab when Biles was well out of range. Biles shoots in but no luck this time. Kalawa lands a nice shot to the body.

Biles has his takedown stuffed and Kalawa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Biles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kalawa. Kalawa listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Biles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Biles slips a straight right by Kalawa. Kalawa misses with an uppercut. Biles saw that one coming. Kalawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Biles moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kalawa misses with a hook. Biles drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Ryan Biles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Biles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kalawa circles away. Kalawa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Biles looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Biles moves out of range of the leg kick from Kalawa. Biles darts in looking for a takedown but Kalawa gets double underhooks and turns Biles into the cage. Kalawa was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Kalawa looks to land a left hand but Biles moved out of range nicely. Horrible takedown attempt by Biles or perhaps it was just good defense by Kalawa, which made it look bad. Biles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Biles ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Biles ducks under a wild hook from Kalawa. Kalawa lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kalawa wants to land a leg kick but Biles is out of range. Biles shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalawa tries to sprawl out of it but Biles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. And that's the end of the fight! George Kalawa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kalawa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
