Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Webb! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Webb fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Webb misses with a takedown attempt and Clay counters with a big head kick but Webb shrugs it off. Webb rushes Clay and presses him up against the cage. Clay has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Webb after a bit of a struggle. Webb keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Clay's efforts to push away. Clay has a couple of punches blocked by Webb.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Webb. Clay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Webb has Clay up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Webb tries to circle away but Clay has him pinned against the cage. Clay is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Clay wants a takedown but no success here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Webb's efforts to push away. Clay tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Webb smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Galen Clay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Webb has his takedown stuffed and Clay counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Webb shoots in for a double leg but Clay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Webb tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Clay was well out of range. Poor timing from Webb. Webb ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Clay is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Webb steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Webb with a lazy takedown attempt and Clay counters with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Clay checks a leg kick nicely. Webb gets off balance looking for a body kick and Clay counters with a two punch combo. Webb has managed to clinch.
Clay misses with a hook from the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Clay lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Clay thows a huge punch but Webb dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Webb has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clay is working away from the top position though. Webb tries to get to full guard but Clay has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clay not landing any meaningful shots this time. Webb wants to get back to full guard. Webb wants to control but Clay is keeping busy.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Webb with a nice cross.
It looks like Galen Clay has been cut. Clay fails in his attempt to clinch. Webb tries to counter with a clinch but Clay shakes him off and moves away. Gary Webb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Webb.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Webb looks for the body kick but Clay saw that one coming. Webb throws a sloppy head kick and Clay moves out of range easily. Webb keeps the fight on the outside. Webb changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Webb closes the distance and clinches up with Clay, looking for a takedown. Webb pushes Clay against the cage but Clay circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Clay throws a quick counter kick to the body but Webb avoids it. Clay is looking to clinch but Webb is avoiding it.
Webb throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clay's waist but Clay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Webb off to one side. Webb throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Clay counters with a thumping low kick. Webb shoots for a takedown but Clay saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Galen Clay dominated that round. The cut man is working on Galen Clay's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Clay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Clay rushes Webb and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Webb tries to break free but Clay pushes him back against the cage. Webb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Clay dives in for a single leg takedown but Webb sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Webb shoots in for a takedown but Clay shows good takedown defense. Galen Clay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Webb shoots for a double leg takedown but Clay sprawls well. He's pushed Webb's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Webb keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Clay working over Webb with some ground and pound. Webb looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Webb flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Clay misses with a head shot. Webb uses the momentum to regain guard. Webb seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Webb uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Webb misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Clay tries to clinch there but Webb circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Webb tries to clinch but Clay moves out of range. As Webb looks to move away, Clay throws a big counter combo bu Webb just gets out of the way. Webb fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Clay, pushing him back against the cage. Webb is defending well against a takedown attempt. Clay on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Webb is trying to push Clay away but Clay has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Webb wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Clay lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Clay throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Webbs head. Clay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Webb can do to turn this around? A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Clay lands a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clay throws an elbow that misses. Webb uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Clay's guard. Nice move by Webb! Webb throwing strikes from guard but Clay blocks nicely. Webb is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Clay looking for a sweep. Not yet Clay, not yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Webb trying to control but Clay is working from the bottom. Webb looking to sit in guard and control but Clay gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Webb moves into the clinch. Webb tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clay just stands there and leans against the cage. Webb is trying to break free. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Galen Clay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Webb takes an elbow to the temple. Webb is trying to push Clay away but Clay has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Webb wants to break free but Clay has control.
Clay blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A short left from Webb. Nice body punch from Webb - that landed with a thud.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Webb misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Clay.
Webb has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Clay being controlled against the cage. Clay letting Webb take a breather here. The crowd are getting on Webb's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Webb has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Clay after a bit of a struggle. Clay looking to slow down the pace here. Webb has had enough of the clinch but Clay keeps him there for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webb pushes off an throws an elbow but Clay leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Clay prevents Webb from breaking the clinch. Webb prevents the takedown attempt.
Webb has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Webb lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Clay backwards. Webb throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Clay blocks it with crossed arms. The referee calls for Webb to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Webb is looking to chop away at Clay's legs. Webb moves into the clinch. Webb stalling against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Webb's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nice elbow from Clay. Clay is trying to pull guard but Webb turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A battle for position here, against the cage. Webb works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
And that's the end of the fight! Gary Webb comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Clay has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
