Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luiz Altreto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cesar Quinta! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quinta staying out of range there. Quinta throws a series of punches but Altreto moves out of range. Quinta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Altreto throws out the jab. Altreto feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Quinta sprawling to the canvas! Quinta rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Altreto finish him?!
Quinta is rocked!
It looks like Cesar Quinta has been cut. Altreto lands with a shot to the body. Quinta is still on wobbly legs! Can Altreto finish him? Altreto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. This has been an exciting period of action! Altreto misses with a hook
and Quinta counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Quinta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Altreto napping and manages to drive through into side control! Quinta seems to have recovered his senses. Quinta scoring with punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Altreto bucks up and tries to throw Quinta off but instead Quinta has got his back! Altreto trying to get back to his feet but Quinta is in full control for now. Quinta manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Altreto on his heels. He'll look to pass Altreto's guard now, I'm sure. Quinta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Altreto is keeping the position for now. Quinta is stalling in the full guard. Altreto is looking to stand back up but Quinta counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Altreto. Quinta throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Altreto is looking to escape. Quinta has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Altreto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Still in half guard, Quinta seems content to control. Quinta prevents Altreto from standing back up.

Cesar Quinta has got the better of the ground game so far. Quinta wants to work for an arm triangle but Altreto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Altreto tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Quinta manages to move to mount!
Quinta tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Quinta has hold of Altreto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Altreto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Quinta breaks from Altreto's wrist control and lands an elbow. Quinta landing strikes from the mount.

Altreto's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Quinta raining down shots from the mount! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Quinta has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Altreto's face.

Altreto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Quinta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Altreto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. Quinta is looking for a kimura but Altreto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Quinta to get the leverage. Quinta wants to take a breather but Altreto is having none of it. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Cesar Quinta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Altreto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Quinta closes the distance and clinches. Quinta jumps guard and drags Altreto to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Quinta has his foot on Altreto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Altreto works his way back into a safe position though. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quinta is on top in guard.

Quinta postures up in Altreto's guard and throws a big left but Altreto blocks it. Quinta throws a big elbow that misses. Quinta trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Quinta trying to control the position from guard on top but Altreto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Quinta postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Quinta stops Altreto from standing up. Quinta has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Madz **21 Elite coaches**. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Quinta looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Altreto misses with a looping right. Quinta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Quinta wants to take a breather but Altreto is having none of it. Altreto wants to get back to his feet. Altreto is not content to let Quinta control the position. Quinta scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Altreto tries to kick Quinta off but Quinta keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Quinta is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Luiz Altreto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cesar Quinta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
