Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Domenic Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Declan! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Declan tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Declan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Rogers fails in his attempt to clinch. Rogers fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A low kick from Declan misses and Rogers counters with a left to the body. Rogers fails with an attempt to clinch.
Declan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rogers's half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Declan looks to land a strike but Rogers avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Rogers working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers has his foot on Declan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Declan works his way back into a safe position though. Declan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Declan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Declan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Declan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rogers fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Declan throws a shot to the body.
Declan tries to land a leg kick but Rogers saw it coming and moves away.
Declan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Declan gets a takedown into half guard. Declan controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Declan stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rogers to get to his feet. Declan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Declan moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers is trying to control Declan's posture but Declan avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Declan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rogers to his feet. Rogers keeps the fight on the outside. Rogers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Declan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Declan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rogers quickly recovers to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Declan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rogers is breathing heavily. Well, if Declan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Declan works his way into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A head kick by Declan misses and Rogers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Declan! Declan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Declan, who protects the arm well. Rogers swings around for an armbar but Declan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rogers's guard. Declan looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Declan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rogers can't keep his opponent in guard - Declan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Rogers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Declan passes to side control. Declan moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Declan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Declan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rogers has escaped the position, nice work there. Declan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rogers dodges the ground and pound from Declan. Declan staying calm. Declan throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Declan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rogers keeps working. Declan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rogers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rogers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rogers is trying to improve his position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Declan stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Declan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Declan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Declan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Declan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Declan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rogers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Declan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Don Declan has got the better of the ground game so far. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Declan tries to advance to mount but can't. You can see the frustration on Rogers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Declan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Declan swings around for an armbar but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Declan's guard. Declan is looking to sweep but instead, Rogers has passed into half guard.

Declan pushes Rogers off looking to stand but Rogers dives back in and keeps control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Declan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rogers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rogers's back! Declan tightening his grip on Rogers, looking for the choke.
And that's the end of the fight! Don Declan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Declan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
