Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Orhan Mammadov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Long Timer! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mammadov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Timer.
Timer wants to slow Mammadov down by chopping away at his legs. Mammadov tries to move into range but Timer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. We've been informed that Timer has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Timer throws a right and a left that both miss. Timer misses with a wild combination.
It looked like Mammadov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Mammadov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Timer. Timer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Good shot there by Timer. Timer scores with a three punch combo!
Long Timer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Timer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mammadov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Mammadov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Timer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Timer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mammadov circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Timer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mammadov circles away. Mammadov seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Timer scores with a hook. Mammadov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Timer lands with an overhand left. Timer scores with a shot to the body.
Timer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Timer wants it to stay on the feet. Timer with a body punch. A glancing blow. Timer misses with a double jab.
Timer motions for Mammadov to come forward. Timer throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Timer cracks Mammadov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Timer scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mammadov looks to land a left hand but Timer moved out of range nicely. Nice body punch from Timer. Timer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Timer looks to score with a jab to the body but Mammadov is just out of range. Mammadov is looking to counter punch. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Timer has eaten all the pies!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sloppy strikes from Timer. Those never looked like landing. A little feinted left hand from Mammadov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Timer looks to score with a jab to the body but Mammadov is just out of range. Timer lands a lovely overhand right. The fight moves into the clinch position. Timer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mammadov gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Timer stalls. Timer wants a takedown but no success here.
Orhan Mammadov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Long Timer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mammadov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Mammadov dodges an elbow strike from Timer.
A nice left hand lands by Timer.

Mammadov wants the takedown. Timer is fighting it off but Mammadov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Timer's guard against the cage. Mammadov trying to control the position from guard on top but Timer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mammadov pushing down on Timer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Timer is trying to maintain the position but Mammadov is very close to passing his half guard. Timer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mammadov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Timer tries to roll over but Mammadov keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mammadov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mammadov drops an elbow to the side of Timer's head. Mammadov uses his free foot to push down on Timer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Timer. Timer is in a horrible position here. Mammadov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Timer is looking to improve his position but Mammadov isn't that keen on the idea. Timer tries to hold on but Mammadov pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Long Timer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mammadov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Timer throws a nice inside leg kick. Timer lands a slapping body shot.
Timer scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Timer takes the fight into the clinch. Timer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Timer will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mammadov up against the cage. Timer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mammadov.

That's one minute gone in the round. Timer swings wildly with an uppercut but Mammadov uses good head movement to avoid it. Mammadov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Timer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mammadov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Timer working hard to break the clinch. Timer tries to throw a body punch but Mammadov avoids it by throwing Timer back against the cage. A right hand to the body from Timer.

Timer has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mammadov regains guard immediately. Mammadov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mammadov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mammadov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mammadov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Timer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Timer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Timer postures up in Mammadov's guard and throws a big left but Mammadov blocks it. Mammadov seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Timer trying to control the position from guard on top but Mammadov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Timer prevents Mammadov from getting back to his feet. Mammadov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Timer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mammadov's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Timer wants to control from the top but Mammadov keeps moving. Mammadov working a defensive guard here.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Timer dips to his left and cracks Mammadov with an uppercut! Timer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mammadov takes a shot to the head. Timer controlling the action here for a moment.
Come on Timer - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Timer is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Mammadov has Timer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Timer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orhan Mammadov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mammadov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Timer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Timer chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mammadov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Long Timer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Timer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mammadov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mammadov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Timer moves away. Timer throws a head kick that misses and Mammadov counters with a stiff right hand. Timer throws the kick towards the body but Mammadov avoids it. Mammadov appears to be looking for a big counter. Long Timer seems to be getting the better of the standup. Timer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Timer scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mammadov doesn't seem bothered though. Mammadov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Timer. Mammadov looks for a takedown but Timer sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Timer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mammadov at a distance.

Timer connects with the punch. Timer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mammadov's head backwards. Timer lands with a straight right. Mammadov didn't see that one coming. Timer misses with a wild combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mammadov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Mammadov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Timer. Timer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mammadov ducks under a wild hook from Timer. Timer connects with a crisp jab. Timer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mammadov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Timer keeps Mammadov at a distance using the push kick. Timer has closed the distance and engaged Mammadov in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for Timer to work.
Mammadov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Timer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orhan Mammadov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Timer is trying to break free. Timer tries to land knees in the clinch but Mammadov avoids the damage to the body. Mammadov is trying to drag Timer to the mat but Timer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Timer tries to stall but Mammadov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Timer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mammadov managing to block the knees to the body from Timer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Timer stalling against the cage.

Timer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mammadov backwards. Timer tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Timer working aggressively here.

Timer tries to break the clinch but Mammadov is controlling the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Timer working aggressively here.
Orhan Mammadov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Long Timer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Mammadov has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Timer is trying to keep an underhook but Mammadov manages to get the takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Long Timer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Timer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
