Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Philip Peralta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Manny Pacquiao! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pacquiao fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pacquiao cracks Peralta with a right hand to the side of the head. A combination from Pacquiao does no damage. Pacquiao throws a series of punches but Peralta avoids them all with ease. Peralta throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Peralta on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Peralta dodges the punch combination from Pacquiao.
Peralta has a takedown stuffed. Despite the aggression on Pacquiao's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Pacquiao looks to land a combination but Peralta avoids it well. Peralta tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pacquiao manages to circle out of the way. Pacquiao keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pacquiao tests Peralta's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pacquiao has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fight stays on the outside here - Peralta looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pacquiao misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pacquiao swings for the body but Peralta moves out of range.
Pacquiao will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pacquiao takes a swing at Peralta's ribcage but misses. Manny Pacquiao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick lands from Peralta that sends Pacquiao to the canvas. Pacquiao tries to scramble back to his feet but Peralta brings him back down into side control.
Pacquiao is rocked! Peralta landing strikes. Pacquiao is still in real trouble! Can Peralta finish him? Peralta scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Pacquiao is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Peralta can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Peralta! A determined Philip Peralta didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
