Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethelbart Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ethelbart Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Steel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've been informed that Takahashi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Steel is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Takahashi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Steel is looking to clinch but Takahashi is avoiding it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Steel tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Takahashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Steel chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Takahashi can pounce on him.

Steel listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Takahashi - the referee stops the clock and Steel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Takahashi. Steel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Steel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Steel's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Takahashi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Steel tries to bum rush Takahashi with a series of wild strikes but Takahashi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Steel on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Takahashi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Steel has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Takahashi connects with a leg kick. Steel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Takahashi. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

A very excited looking Ethelbart Takahashi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
