Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Garth Gordon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuzo Fukuda! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fukuda misses with an uppercut
and Gordon counters with a three punch combo that has Fukuda backing up. Fukuda nods at Gordon to acknowledge the strikes. A head kick misses from Fukuda. Gordon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Gordon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gordon avoids the head kick by Fukuda.
Fukuda cracks Gordon with a right hand to the side of the head. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gordon. Tatsuzo Fukuda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fukuda lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Garth Gordon has been cut. Fukuda lands a big head kick that sends Gordon to the canvas! Fukuda follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tatsuzo Fukuda!
