The crowd seem to be enjoying Miyata's choice of entrance music: Boa - Energetic. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice uppercut there from Miyata.
Miyata lands a nice looking body shot.
Stein uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Miyata.
Miyata misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Miyata darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Miyata shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stein sprawls well. Stein wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Miyata gets slowly back to his feet.

We've been hearing good reports from Stein's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miyata accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Stein counters with a nice low kick that buckles Miyata's knee momentarily.

Good leg kick by Stein there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Miyata drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Stein defends it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stein shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miyata's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miyata has Stein pulled in close to control his posture.
Miyata wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Stein gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Miyata.

Miyata is fighting off a takedown attempt but Stein is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Miyata to the mat. Miyata regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Stein content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Stein is looking to work some ground and pound but Miyata has wrist control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stein connects with a nice short shot to Miyata's temple.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Stein is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stein thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miyata's head.

Stein seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miyata does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stein avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Miyata swats away the attempt to clinch by Stein.
Miyata closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Miyata throws an overhand right that lands on Stein's shoulder, as Stein tries to avoid the shot.
