Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Corll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikku Kakkipylly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corll comes into the arena with South Texas Death Ride blaring out of the sound system. Pikku Kakkipylly told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Corll! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pikku Kakkipylly! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corll throws a head kick that misses. Corll catches Kakkipylly with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Corll takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Corll misses with a hook. Kakkipylly ducked under it nicely. Kakkipylly scores with a nice body kick.

Kakkipylly takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Corll misses with a double jab.

Corll tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kakkipylly was well out of range. Poor timing from Corll. Corll thows a body kick. Kakkipylly tries to catch it but that hurt him. This has been an exciting period of action! Corll swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kakkipylly throws a head kick that misses. Corll throws a right hand that misses
and Kakkipylly counters with a nice low kick that buckles Corll's knee momentarily. A big right from Corll misses. Kakkipylly was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. We've been hearing reports that Corll has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kakkipylly pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Corll stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Corll misses with a looping left. Kakkipylly steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Kakkipylly is looking to clinch but Corll is avoiding it.

A little feinted left hand from Corll on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Corll takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Corll takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kakkipylly tries to clinch but Corll moves out of range. Corll feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kakkipylly's calf. Kakkipylly throws a wild body kick that Corll sees coming a mile off. Corll throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. An inside leg kick lands from Corll. Corll scoring well with a low kick there.
Corll throws a right and a left that both miss. Kakkipylly follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Corll feints and then cracks Kakkipylly's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kakkipylly down. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kakkipylly has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kakkipylly there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakkipylly lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kakkipylly tries to clinch up enabling Corll to counter with a crisp jab. Corll throws a leg kick but Kakkipylly moved away. Dean Corll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Corll waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kakkipylly. Kakkipylly rushes Corll and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kakkipylly's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Corll breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Corll delivers a nice body kick. Corll moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kakkipylly scores with a push kick. Kakkipylly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kakkipylly blocks a head kick by Corll.
Kakkipylly steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Corll. Kakkipylly gets a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corll breaks from the clinch.
Kakkipylly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Corll stuns Kakkipylly with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Corll throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kakkipylly counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Corll is lucky that one didn't land flush. Corll throws a leg kick which misses Kakkipylly's front leg but catches the back leg as Kakkipylly tries to avoid it. Corll thuds a left hand into Kakkipylly's body. Corll misses with a combination
and Kakkipylly counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kakkipylly. Corll avoids a wild elbow strike from Kakkipylly. A short right from Corll on the inside. Kakkipylly throws an elbow that misses.
Corll breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Corll throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Corll lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Corll checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Corll scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kakkipylly in his tracks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corll misses with an uppercut. A telegraphed right hand from Corll misses the target. Corll lands with a nice body punch. Corll throws a lazy uppercut

Corll tries to land a front kick but Kakkipylly steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Corll swats away the attempt to clinch by Kakkipylly. Corll ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Corll works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Corll connects with the punch. Kakkipylly lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dean Corll dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Kakkipylly finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Corll throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Corll pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kakkipylly is out of range and Corll settles back down. Kakkipylly throws a half hearted mid kick. Good work by Kakkipylly as he checks the leg kick. Corll is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kakkipylly can do to turn this around? Corll ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kakkipylly moves away. A thudding body kick lands there by Kakkipylly!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kakkipylly wants to clinch up but Corll keeps it at a distance. Dean Corll is winning the standup battle so far. Good leg kick by Corll there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kakkipylly tries to close the distance and clinch up but Corll swats him away and circles back towards the center. Corll lands with a good body shot. Corll misses with a right hand and Kakkipylly counters with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakkipylly throws a low kick, looking for Corll's leg but Corll calmly moves out of range. Kakkipylly tries to close the distance and clinch up but Corll swats him away and circles back towards the center. Corll will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Corll connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kakkipylly blocks the body kick.
Corll stuns Kakkipylly with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Corll throws a body shot but no joy. Corll lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Corll. Kakkipylly pushes Corll away with a front kick. Corll looks to land a body kick but Kakkipylly moved away. Corll fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kakkipylly manages to avoid it. A nice leg kick lands there from Corll. Kakkipylly avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kakkipylly wants to counter with a clinch but Corll pushes him away. A head kick misses from Kakkipylly. Kakkipylly moves out of range of the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakkipylly does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Corll misses with a shot to the body and Kakkipylly counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kakkipylly. Corll lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kakkipylly backwards. A short left from Corll. Kakkipylly misses with an elbow over the top. Kakkipylly lands a damaging elbow. Kakkipylly blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kakkipylly tries to break free but Corll pushes him back against the cage. Kakkipylly's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Kakkipylly is rocked! Kakkipylly pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Kakkipylly is still on wobbly legs! Can Corll finish him? A right hand to the body from Corll.
Kakkipylly is breathing heavily. Corll pushes Kakkipylly against the cage. Corll is working some dirty boxing. Corll pushes off with a quick right hook! Kakkipylly goes down! Kakkipylly tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Corll moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
