Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Finkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Padilla has chosen Dead by Dawn by Deicide as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ray Finkle! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nero Padilla! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finkle showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Padilla.
Finkle swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Finkle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Padilla was well out of range. Poor timing from Finkle. Ray Finkle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Padilla loads up on a big right hand but Finkle slips the punch. Padilla looks to land a body kick but Finkle moved away. Finkle fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Padilla has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Finkle throws a looping overhand right but Padilla ducks down to avoid it. Padilla wants to counter the offense by Finkle and move into the clinch position. Padilla turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Padilla misses with a wild body shot. Finkle was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Finkle closes the distance and lands a one-two. A head kick misses from Finkle. Finkle has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Beast in the buildup to the fight. Finkle catches Padilla with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Padilla lands a nice looking body shot.
Padilla looks to land a right hand but Finkle moved out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Finkle tries to clinch up. Padilla lands a right hook to the body.
Finkle takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

That's one minute gone in the round. Finkle misses with a low kick. Padilla misses with a low kick. Padilla on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Padilla looks to land a combination. Finkle sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Padilla uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Finkle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Padilla connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Padilla throws a hook to the side of Finkle's head but Finkle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Padilla throws a nice looking combination but Finkle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Finkle seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Finkle doesn't manage to clinch there - Padilla circles away.

Finkle cracks Padilla with an open hand slap. This has been an exciting period of action! Finkle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Padilla. Finkle darts in and clinches Padilla up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Padilla manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Padilla wants to sweep but no luck. Padilla keeping moving, preventing Finkle from controlling successfully. Finkle's corner is telling him to maintain position. Finkle trying to control but Padilla is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Padilla throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Finkle trying to move into half guard but instead Padilla has managed to sweep! Padilla tries to free his leg and advance position but Finkle is retaining full guard. Finkle bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Padilla's guard.
Finkle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Padilla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Finkle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Padilla looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Padilla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Finkle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Padilla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Finkle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Finkle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Finkle wants to control from the top but Padilla keeps moving. Padilla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nero Padilla dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It looks like Nero Padilla has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Finkle tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Padilla avoids it. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Padilla creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Padilla struggles to land a body shot inside as Finkle controls his hands.

That's one minute gone in the round. Finkle wants to control from the top but Padilla keeps moving. Finkle preventing the sweep. Finkle stands up over Padilla, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Finkle slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Padilla manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Finkle manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Padilla sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Finkle's guard. Finkle works his way to full guard. Good work. Padilla wants to pass the guard but Finkle is keeping the position. Finkle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nero Padilla has got the better of the ground game so far. Padilla wants to pass the guard but Finkle is keeping the position. Padilla is looking to advance position but Finkle has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Finkle thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Lucky escape for Padilla because Finkle loaded up on that one. Padilla is desperately trying to improve his position but Finkle has a good base and remains in mount. Padilla avoids a series of strikes thrown by Finkle.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Finkle will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Nero Padilla's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Padilla misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

It seemed like Padilla was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Padilla misses with the combination.

With the fighters up against the cage, Finkle throws an elbow but misses. Finkle lands a nice uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice elbow from Finkle. Padilla is still on wobbly legs! Can Finkle finish him? Padilla doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Padilla seems to have recovered his senses. Finkle is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Padilla looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Finkle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Padilla has his foot on Finkle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Finkle works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
