Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shinji Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morris swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morris tries to counter with a takedown but Nakamura is quick to defend against it.
Morris scores with a punch to the head.
Morris has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Morris moves into the clinch.
Nakamura drops down looking for an ankle pick but Morris pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nakamura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morris's waist but Morris gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nakamura off to one side.
Morris drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Morris is trying to get an arm triangle but Nakamura is defending well.
Nakamura manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morris is looking to improve his position.

Morris is refusing to be controlled, as Nakamura sits in half guard.
Nakamura is controlling the pace.
Nakamura blocks the strikes from Morris.
Morris flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Morris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Morris.
Morris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Morris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nakamura defends it easily.

Morris lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Nakamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Morris is taking a breather. Nakamura says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nakamura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Morris in particular looking to stall.
Morris is trying to control the action in half guard but Nakamura is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morris is looking for a kimura but Nakamura is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Morris to get the leverage.
Morris slips a nice elbow through Nakamura's hands, connecting with Nakamura's forehead.

Nakamura is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Morris scores with a couple of nice shots.
Nakamura has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Morris is working away from the top position though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nakamura looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Morris is fending him off so far but Nakamura persists. Nope, Morris circles away and we're back to standing.
Nakamura tries to clinch but Morris is having none of it.
Nakamura fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Morris throws a head kick that misses.
Morris throws a series of punches but Nakamura moves out of range.
And Nakamura tries to counter it with a takedown but Morris pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Matt Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinji Nakamura.

Morris closes the distance and pushes Nakamura back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morris is struggling to control the position.
Morris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nakamura fails to land the takedown.
Morris seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Morris is looking to chop away at Nakamura's legs.
Morris stuffs the takedown attempt from Nakamura. Nakamura gets slowly back to his feet.
Morris tries to counter with a takedown but Nakamura is quick to defend against it.
Nakamura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Morris tries to avoid it but Nakamura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Morris to the ground. Morris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Morris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nakamura can do to turn this around?
Morris's corner calls for a 1-2. Morris obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Morris moves into the clinch successfully.

Morris has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nakamura clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Morris has his arm under Nakamura's chin here. Game over son! Morris squeezes tightly and Nakamura is forced to tap out!
