Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant wants to clinch up but Hughes keeps it at a distance.
Hughes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grant pinned against the cage. Grant gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hughes pushes Grant up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Hughes prevents a takedown attempt there.
A head punch on the inside from Grant fails to land.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Grant connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hughes dives in and grabs Grant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grant pushes down on Hughes's head and hops out.
Hughes closes the distance and clinches up with Grant, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes Grant against the cage but Grant circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grant is looking to counter the offense by Hughes and move into the clinch.
Grant closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Grant is nestled in close to Hughes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hughes tries to kick Grant off in order to stand up. Grant Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Hughes is trying to work for a sweep but Grant has mounted him!

Grant is looking to stand but Hughes has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Grant is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hughes can do to turn this around?
Grant jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hughes manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hughes tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Grant lands a nice shot to the head.

Grant avoids the attempt from Hughes to control.
Grant is landing with some decent strikes but Hughes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Grant lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hughes hang on?
Hughes wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Grant has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Hughes taps furiously! This one is all over!
