Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeromy Mcdowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeromy Mcdowell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xavier Williams! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams dives in and scores a takedown into Mcdowell's guard. Mcdowell throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mcdowell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Williams controls the pace. Williams has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mcdowell is proving hard to escape from. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Mcdowell manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcdowell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Williams is adopting a defensive guard. Mcdowell postures up in Williams's guard and throws a big left but Williams blocks it. Mcdowell really is a fat lump. Williams controls Mcdowell momentarily but Mcdowell frees himself. Williams has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcdowell has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Williams is trying to get back to half guard. Mcdowell tries to score with some ground and pound. Williams controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Williams tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcdowell has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcdowell misses with a head shot. Williams sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Williams misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Mcdowell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head. Williams avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mcdowell. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Williams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mcdowell to score an easy takedown into full guard. Williams wants to stand but Mcdowell is controlling the position. Mcdowell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mcdowell lands a couple of digs. Williams looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeromy Mcdowell dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Williams swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mcdowell counters with a straight right hand. Mcdowell looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well. Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mcdowell has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Jeromy Mcdowell has been cut. Williams misses with a takedown attempt and Mcdowell counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Mcdowell gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Williams regains guard.
Williams is looking to sweep but instead, Mcdowell has passed into half guard.
Williams wants to control but Mcdowell is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams is looking for a sweep. Mcdowell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mcdowell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Williams defending well though. Mcdowell not landing any meaningful shots this time. Williams pushes Mcdowell off but Mcdowell dives into side control.
Mcdowell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mcdowell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mcdowell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mcdowell goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Williams rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mcdowell's guard! Nice work there by Williams! Mcdowell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? Williams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mcdowell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mcdowell has escaped and now he's on top! Mcdowell prevents Williams from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcdowell throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcdowell stands up from guard. Let's bang! Mcdowell blocks the body kick.
Mcdowell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Mcdowell persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing. Williams throws a head kick that misses. As Williams tries to get set, Mcdowell tries to push him back and clinch up but Williams manages to avoid the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mcdowell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Williams throws a right and a left that both miss. Williams throws a right hand that Mcdowell ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcdowell also avoids with ease. Williams is breathing heavily. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Mcdowell goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeromy Mcdowell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcdowell moves into range and clinches up with Williams. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williams manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Williams wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jeromy Mcdowell will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jeromy Mcdowell's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mcdowell is trying to push Williams away but Williams has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Xavier Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mcdowell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mcdowell closes the distance and pushes Williams back into the cage. Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mcdowell fails to land the takedown. Williams is looking for the big counter here. Williams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mcdowell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Williams swinging wildly here.

Williams gets caught flat footed, as Mcdowell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Williams is looking to stand back up but Mcdowell counters by passing into half guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Williams wants to hold on but Mcdowell pushes him away. Mcdowell lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Williams tries to lock up and control but Mcdowell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mcdowell looking to control but Williams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Williams keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Mcdowell is landing with some decent strikes but Williams is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mcdowell lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mcdowell looking to control but Williams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeromy Mcdowell showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcdowell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
