Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lance Hardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarik Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tarik Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardwood fails with a takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johnson! But no joy.
We've been hearing reports that Hardwood has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hardwood looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Hardwood blocks a jab.
Hardwood is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson throws a hook to the side of Hardwood's head but Hardwood sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hardwood walks into a straight right hand from Johnson.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson rushes Hardwood with punches - Hardwood moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Hardwood goes down! Johnson follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tarik Johnson!
