PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Agger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richter Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Agger had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Agger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richter Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Jones checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Agger tries to clinch up.
Jones drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Agger defends it well.
Agger tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Good standup being displayed there by Agger as he connects with a hook.
Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Agger's sensitive parts.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Agger trying to stall but Jones improves his position.
Agger lands with a short shot to the head.

Agger has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from.

Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Agger's guard.

Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jones stands and steps away. Agger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt
and Jones counters with a nice kick to the body.
Agger feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Agger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Agger in a clinch.
Agger is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Agger's efforts to push away.

Jones stalling.
Jones prevents a body shot from Agger.
Agger is trying to break free.
Agger can't break the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Agger throws an elbow that misses.
Agger wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Agger has a couple of punches blocked by Jones.
Jones displaying some good clinch control by pressing Agger up against the cage.
Jones can't get the takedown.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones managing to block the knees to the body from Agger.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Agger's efforts to push away.

Agger tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Agger back against the cage.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Agger pulls his leg out and moves away.
Agger darts in trying to clinch
and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Agger thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Agger backing up. Agger nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.

And Jones tries to counter it with a takedown but Agger pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Nice uppercut lands for Agger. That snapped Jones's head back.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Agger punishes Jones's body with a nice straight punch.
Agger ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Agger does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Jones steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Agger.
Agger fails with an attempt to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jones! But no joy.
Agger throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.

Jones unleashes a big counter combination but Agger bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Agger will probably get the nod.

Jones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.
Agger is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Agger defends well.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jones manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

I would just about give that final round to Richter Jones.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
