PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Dillinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brad Dillinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dillinger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dillinger throws a combination that misses

and Edwards counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Edwards.

Dillinger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice takedown defense from Edwards. No joy for Dillinger on that attempt.
Dillinger tries for a takedown but Edwards sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dillinger throws a leg kick that misses.

Dillinger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dillinger looking to throw knees to the head but Edwards is blocking nicely.

Brad Dillinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dillinger has closed the distance and engaged Edwards in a clinch.

Dillinger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Edwards as he avoids it easily.

Dillinger is looking to stand up but Edwards isn't so interested in that idea.

Edwards got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dillinger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Edwards has managed to get both his arms back between Dillinger's legs - danger averted.

Dillinger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edwards's guard.

Dillinger seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dillinger gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dillinger has a takedown stuffed.
Dillinger shoots in for a takedown but Edwards shows good takedown defense.
As Dillinger backs off Edwards throws a huge counter combo but Dillinger manages to avoid it all.
Edwards has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dillinger is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Dillinger has managed to clinch.
Edwards is trying to drag Dillinger to the mat but Dillinger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Edwards drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dillinger gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Edwards regains guard.
Edwards is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Edwards can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dillinger controls the pace.

Edwards displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dillinger.
And Edwards tries to counter it with a takedown but Dillinger pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Dillinger fails to land with a series of punches.
Dillinger shoots in for a double leg but Edwards sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Edwards closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dillinger circles away.
Dillinger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Edwards pinned against the cage. Edwards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A little jabbing left from Edwards on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Dillinger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Edwards sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Dillinger fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Edwards avoids it really well and circles away.
Edwards tries to counter with a clinch but Dillinger shakes him off and moves away.
Dillinger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Edwards can do to turn this around?

Dillinger ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dillinger no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Edwards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Edwards postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Edwards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dillinger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Edwards stuffs the takedown attempt from Dillinger. Dillinger gets slowly back to his feet.

Dillinger goes for a double leg but Edwards avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Edwards continues to drive forward.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dillinger in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Edwards tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dillinger!
