PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Embernate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Bishop Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bishop Jr has chosen The Desolation of Smaug as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop Jr shoots in for a takedown but Embernate shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bishop Jr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Embernate as he avoids it easily.
Embernate closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bishop Jr circles away.
Bishop Jr tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Embernate enables Bishop Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Embernate manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bishop Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Embernate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Embernate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bishop Jr is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bishop Jr content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Embernate has locked up a guillotine! Embernate's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bishop Jr is holding on here and Embernate must be using up a lot of energy. Bishop Jr has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Embernate gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
