Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edison Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashid Nezhmetdinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edison Todd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rashid Nezhmetdinov! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Todd looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Todd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Todd prevents Nezhmetdinov from improving his position. Nezhmetdinov works his way to full guard. Good work. Nezhmetdinov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Todd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nezhmetdinov is pulling down on Todd's head. It's preventing any offense from Todd, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nezhmetdinov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nezhmetdinov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nezhmetdinov lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nezhmetdinov looking to pass the guard. Nezhmetdinov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Todd is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Todd has escaped and now he's on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nezhmetdinov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Todd manages to get himself to full guard.
Todd wants to sweep here but Nezhmetdinov controlling him for the moment. Nezhmetdinov with a flurry of punches that miss. Nezhmetdinov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nezhmetdinov trying to control but Todd is working from the bottom. Nezhmetdinov is working Todd over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Nezhmetdinov stays in close to Todd's body and controls the position. Todd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nezhmetdinov with a nice head shot there.
It looks like Edison Todd has been cut. Nezhmetdinov stands up over Todd, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nezhmetdinov is in close to Todd's body, working some short punches and elbows. Todd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nezhmetdinov passes Todd's left leg - he's now in half guard. Nezhmetdinov throwing shots but Todd is blocking nicely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nezhmetdinov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Todd trying to control from the bottom.
Nezhmetdinov is taking a breather. Todd says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Nezhmetdinov lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Todd! More strikes land and this one is all over! Nezhmetdinov jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rashid Nezhmetdinov!
