PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dillon Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber comes to the cage accompanied by ruff ryders' anthem. On his way into the cage it seems that Dillon Weber has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dillon Weber seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dillon Weber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gene Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson tries to clinch but Weber is having none of it.
Weber falls off balance throwing a combination

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Anderson laying and praying for a moment but Weber takes advantage and regains half guard.
Weber won't allow Anderson to pass to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson stops Weber from getting back to his feet.

Anderson is keen to just control but Weber is a slippery customer.

Anderson wants to free his trapped foot but Weber is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Weber enables Anderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weber manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Anderson wants to get up but he can't break Weber's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Anderson throws an elbow that misses. Weber uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Weber!

As Anderson looks to move away, Weber throws a big counter combo bu Anderson just gets out of the way.
Weber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Anderson circles away quickly and effectively.
Weber tries to bum rush Anderson with a series of wild strikes but Anderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anderson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Anderson lands a nice forearm strike.
Gene Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Weber is not content to let Anderson control the position.

I would just about give that final round to Gene Anderson.
I've got Anderson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
