Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chichi Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Awake and Alive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Vernon Reeves has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vernon Reeves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chichi Li! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Li or perhaps it was just good defense by Reeves, which made it look bad. Reeves fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Li avoids it really well and circles away. Li throws a head kick that misses. Li gets a clinch. Li tries to break the clinch but Reeves is controlling the position. Li pulls guard. Reeves wanted to stand there but Li had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li tries to land a sweep but no joy. Li keeping moving, preventing Reeves from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Li, up you get! Li closes the distance and pushes Reeves back into the cage. Li is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Reeves gets underhooks to prevent Li's takedown attempt.

Vernon Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chichi Li. Li is trying to pull guard but Reeves has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reeves misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Li.
Li has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Li is trying to pull guard but Reeves has him pressed against the cage. Reeves misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Li.
Li jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reeves walks away with a smile on his face. Li gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Li throws a lazy head kick and Reeves counters with a shoot takedown. Li fights it but they end up in guard. Reeves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reeves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Reeves connects with a couple of short punches. Reeves drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Li manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Reeves has Li in his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reeves looking for a sweep. Not yet Reeves, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reeves has a closed guard, preventing Li from standing up. Reeves is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Reeves manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Li manages to get himself to full guard.

Reeves passes into half guard. Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Li is trying to control but can't.
Reeves perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Li misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Reeves working the head and body with strikes. Li keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reeves is nestled in close to Li, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Reeves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Li is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vernon Reeves dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Li instigates a clinch. Li tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reeves just stands there and leans against the cage. Li has Reeves pushed against the cage. Reeves is trying to break the clinch but Li has him pressed against the cage. Li tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li tries to score a body lock takedown but Reeves shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Vernon Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chichi Li. Li jumps guard but Reeves turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Li's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Li fails to pull guard.

Li goes for a takedown in the clinch but Reeves prevents it.
Li is breathing heavily. Li jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reeves walks away with a smile on his face. Li gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Li gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Li looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Reeves stands up and waves to Li to follow him. Li throws a nice looking combination but Reeves bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Reeves avoids the head kick by Li.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Li tries for a takedown but Reeves circles away easily and Reeves counters with a one-two to the body. Reeves gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Reeves is looking to take a break and control but Li is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reeves working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Reeves thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Reeves looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li being controlled for a moment. Reeves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Li has escaped the position, nice work there. Reeves remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reeves gets to mount! Li was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Reeves gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Reeves is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Li can do to turn this around? Li drives through and clinches with Reeves against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reeves is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Li is defending well. Li is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Reeves is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Li looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Reeves seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Li tries a head kick but it misses.
Li lands with a kick to the temple. Reeves shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Reeves avoids the head kick by Li.
Li scores with a kick to the midsection. Li has closed the distance and engaged Reeves in a clinch.

and Reeves counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Reeves moves out of range of the body kick from Li.
Reeves appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Reeves shoots in and bounces Li off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reeves passes Li's left leg - he's now in half guard. Reeves decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Li fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reeves, pushing him back against the cage. Li misses with a short punch on the inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Reeves - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Li drops down looking for an ankle pick but Reeves pulls his leg out and moves away.
Vernon Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chichi Li. Reeves dives in and scores a takedown into Li's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reeves advances position into side control! Reeves decides to stand back up. Reeves steps back and let's Li get back to his feet. Vernon Reeves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Reeves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Li is defending against the submission attempts here by Reeves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reeves wants to work for an arm triangle but Li is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Li has a hand on Reeves's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Reeves takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Li really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Li is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Reeves stands up from mount. Strange move. Li misses with a straight right. Reeves has Li up against the cage in a clinch.
Reeves lands a hook to the side of the head. Chichi Li has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vernon Reeves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Reeves breaks from the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Vernon Reeves showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reeves, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
