PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitman Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hitman Hart!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hart gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hart pulls guard successfully.
Jackson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hart's guard.
Jackson prevents Hart from getting back to his feet.
Hart pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson is in close to Hart's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hart throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Hart moves into the clinch.
Jackson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hart just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jackson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
You can see the frustration on Hart's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hart gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Hart is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hart is trying is best to control the position here.
Hart gets full guard.
Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Hart has wrist control.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Hart won't let him.

It looks like Frank Jackson has been cut.
Jackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hart looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.
Jackson throws a low kick, looking for Hart's leg but Hart calmly moves out of range.
Hart is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hart tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Hart to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jackson is looking to stand up but Hart isn't so interested in that idea.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.

Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hart is working away from the top position though.

Hart fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jackson to the ground. Hart is now in Jackson's guard.
Hart must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Hart is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hart drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hart has Jackson in his guard.

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Hart's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hart wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitman Hart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Hart shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hart throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackson was covering up waiting for the punch and Hart finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jackson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hart, up you get!
Hart looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hart bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hart tries for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hart misses with the ground and pound.
Jackson is trying to buck Hart off.
Jackson isn't going anywhere.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom here.

Hitman Hart comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hart has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
