Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Cloverleaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Ricci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ken Cloverleaf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Ricci!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cloverleaf throws a head kick that misses.
Ricci avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ricci closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cloverleaf circles away.
Cloverleaf rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ricci moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cloverleaf stuffs the takedown.
Cloverleaf tries to clinch up.
Cloverleaf jabs at Ricci's body.
Cloverleaf throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ricci shoots for a double leg takedown but Cloverleaf sprawls well. He's pushed Ricci's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ken Cloverleaf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Ricci.
Nice defenses there by Ricci.
Cloverleaf scores with the left hand. Ricci knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Pedro Ricci has been cut.

Cloverleaf closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cloverleaf is trying to break free.

Ricci throws a head kick but Cloverleaf moves out of range.

Ricci shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cloverleaf as he jumps to the side.

Ken Cloverleaf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cloverleaf pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ken Cloverleaf is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ricci avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ricci uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cloverleaf.
Cloverleaf fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ricci manages to avoid it.
Cloverleaf misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cloverleaf thows a left - swing and a miss!
Cloverleaf looks to land a right hand but Ricci moved out of range.
Cloverleaf tries to clinch but Ricci moves away

and Ricci counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cloverleaf regains full guard. Nicely done.

Cloverleaf had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ricci is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cloverleaf Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ricci's back instead.
Ricci is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cloverleaf.

Ricci is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Cloverleaf looking for the choke but no joy.
Cloverleaf is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cloverleaf doesn't have the hooks in and Ricci manages to turn into his guard.
Cloverleaf keeping moving, preventing Ricci from controlling successfully.
Cloverleaf has a closed guard, preventing Ricci from standing up.
Ricci wants to control from the top but Cloverleaf keeps moving.

Cloverleaf is trying to control the position but Ricci postures up.
Cloverleaf is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ricci wanted to stand there but Cloverleaf had control of the position.
Cloverleaf manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Cloverleaf working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ricci looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Cloverleaf! Submission of the night perhaps?
