The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carver shoots in looking for a takedown but Peralta manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Peralta scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Carver doesn't seem bothered though.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peralta throws a jab but it's blocked by Carver.
Carver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peralta is fending him off so far but Carver persists. Nope, Peralta circles away and we're back to standing.
Philip Peralta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peralta moves out of range as Carver throws a body kick.

Philip Peralta decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
