The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gideon dives in and scores a takedown into Diaz's guard.
Diaz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gideon is one step ahead there.
Gideon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Diaz looking to control but Gideon passes into half guard.
Gideon wants to stand up but Diaz has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gideon content to control rather than advance.
Diaz wants to control but Gideon is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz tries to lock up and control but Gideon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gideon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Gideon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape.

Diaz rolls, trying to escape but Gideon keeps control of the position.
Gideon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Diaz has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gideon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Diaz taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gideon doesn't care though - he's delighted!
