PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Nuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Vurny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jared Nuke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aldo Vurny!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Vurny takes one on the button.
Nuke bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Nuke swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vurny.
Vurny changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nuke tries to avoid it but Vurny manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nuke to the ground. Nuke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nuke swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A decent looking cross lands there for Nuke.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Aldo Vurny has been cut.
Nuke pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Vurny is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Nuke counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jared Nuke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aldo Vurny.
Nuke fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vurny on the side of the head.
Nuke is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vurny.
Vurny let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Vurny throws a shot from downtown. Nuke moves away and avoids it.

That's time! Nuke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nuke looks to land a combination but Vurny avoids it well.
Vurny throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nuke's waist but Nuke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vurny off to one side.
Nuke definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Vurny throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nuke seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Nuke tries to bum rush Vurny with a series of wild strikes but Vurny uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Nuke displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vurny.

Nuke throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

A countering left hand to the body from Vurny misses.
Nuke throws a hook to the side of Vurny's head but Vurny sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vurny wants to clinch but Nuke slips to the side
and Nuke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vurny looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Nuke wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Nuke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Nuke lands with a cross.
Nuke looks to land a body kick but Vurny moved away.
Vurny swinging wildly here.

Vurny thows a huge punch but Nuke dodges it nicely.

Vurny seems to be working for a kimura but Nuke defends the submission attempt.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jared Nuke will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Nuke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vurny can do to turn this around?

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vurny connects with a nice short shot to Nuke's temple.

and Vurny takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nuke is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Nuke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vurny moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vurny steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nuke.

Jared Nuke showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nuke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
