Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Pulunskivic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murray Snipes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vladimir Pulunskivic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Murray Snipes!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snipes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pulunskivic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Pulunskivic looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Snipes has picked Pulunskivic up and slammed him! Pulunskivic can't keep hold of the triangle and Snipes manages to pass to side control!

Snipes wants to stand but Pulunskivic has his arm trapped.
Pulunskivic wants to get back to his feet but Snipes drags him back down.
Snipes lands a decent elbow from side control.
Snipes controls the position.
Pulunskivic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snipes grinds an elbow into Pulunskivic's temple.
Snipes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pulunskivic some visible discomfort.
Pulunskivic striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Pulunskivic tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pulunskivic is working hard here to advance position.
Snipes advances to full mount.
Snipes looking to finish Pulunskivic with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pulunskivic!
Pulunskivic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Snipes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pulunskivic stops Snipes from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Pulunskivic wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Pulunskivic is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Snipes is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pulunskivic is defending well though. Snipes let's go of the attempt for now.

Pulunskivic is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Snipes gets his way!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snipes gets his hands free as Pulunskivic looks to control.

What can Pulunskivic do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Snipes has control of Pulunskivic's left arm, preventing Pulunskivic from doing any damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Snipes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Snipes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pulunskivic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That's time! Pulunskivic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Snipes drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pulunskivic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snipes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Snipes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Snipes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Pulunskivic throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Snipes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Snipes is continuing to stall.

Snipes is working for a submission of some sort.
Snipes wants to free his trapped foot but Pulunskivic is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Pulunskivic is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Snipes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Snipes's back!

Snipes prevents Pulunskivic from getting a body triangle.
Snipes rolls, trying to escape but Pulunskivic keeps control of the position.
Snipes looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Pulunskivic has the hooks in. Snipes is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Snipes trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Pulunskivic lands a shot to the body.

Snipes trying to control the position but Pulunskivic manages to sink in the hooks.
Snipes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pulunskivic is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Snipes defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Pulunskivic is trying to stick to Snipes's back but Snipes is turning into Pulunskivic. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pulunskivic's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Snipes.
Pulunskivic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pulunskivic is trying to keep Snipes in close.

Murray Snipes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Pulunskivic dives in and grabs Snipes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snipes pushes down on Pulunskivic's head and hops out.

Snipes ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Snipes no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Snipes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pulunskivic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Snipes counters with a shoot takedown. Pulunskivic fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pulunskivic throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Snipes is in close to Pulunskivic's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Snipes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pulunskivic's guard.

Pulunskivic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Snipes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Murray Snipes has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pulunskivic looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Snipes passes into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Snipes wants to stand but Pulunskivic is controlling his arm.
Pulunskivic being controlled for a moment.
Snipes tries to stand but Pulunskivic is controlling his head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pulunskivic is defended easily by Snipes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Pulunskivic. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pulunskivic dives in for a single leg takedown but Snipes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Vladimir Pulunskivic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Murray Snipes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters circle momentarily. Pulunskivic darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Murray Snipes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Snipes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
