Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vernell Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Skap Hazard!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a takedown
and Hazard counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Vernell Williams has been cut.
Williams wants to clinch up but Hazard keeps it at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Williams.
Hazard scores with a nice head shot.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Hazard shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vernell Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hazard tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hazard to the ground. Hazard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hazard swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Williams.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hazard counters with a crisp right hand that drops Williams! Hazard lets Williams back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hazard! But no joy.

Hazard leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Hazard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Williams tries for a takedown but Hazard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hazard swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Williams throws a right hand that misses
and Williams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vernell Williams's cut is getting worse.
Hazard cracks Williams with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Williams looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hazard finish him?
Oh Williams is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Williams tries for a takedown but Hazard circles away easily
and Hazard counters with a huge left! Williams is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hazard isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Williams from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hazard!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Skap Hazard!
Skap Hazard took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
