The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmdona throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Holmdona lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bin Apu has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Holmdona creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Holmdona throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bin Apu.
Bin Apu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Holmdona sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bin Apu somewhat.

I was talking to Holmdona's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Holmdona lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
