Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Jabber!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia shoots in for a takedown but Jabber shows good takedown defense.
Garcia throws a right and a left that Jabber avoids nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jabber looks to score with a jab to the body but Garcia is just out of range.
Garcia jabs Jabber right on the nose. Jabber blinks but takes it well.
Jabber throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jabber displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garcia.
Jabber swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Jabber rushes Garcia and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jabber wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Garcia has him pressed against the cage.

Jabber manages to break the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Garcia.
We've been hearing reports that Garcia has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice sprawl there from Jabber as Garcia shoots in.
Jabber is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

A punch lands to the side of Garcia 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Garcia throws a right and a left that Jabber avoids nicely.

Jabber has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jabber blocks the body kick.
Garcia takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jabber keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jabber tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Garcia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garcia drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jabber sprawls and moves away.

Jabber slips a jab and a cross from Garcia.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Garcia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jabber pinned against the cage. Jabber gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jabber slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jabber throws a shot from downtown. Garcia moves away and avoids it.
Jabber is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Garcia.

Garcia decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jabber wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.
Garcia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jabber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Garcia scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jabber dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Garcia will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown. Jabber tries to sprawl out of it but Garcia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jabber manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Garcia throws a combination that misses
and Jabber counters with a solid body kick.
Garcia shoots in for a double leg but Jabber sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Garcia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Danga de danga de dang - Jabber scores with a four punch combination!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garcia closes the distance and clinches up with Jabber, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes Jabber against the cage but Jabber circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Jabber moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Garcia! Jabber continues to tee off on Garcia, landing with a left and a right! Jabber connects with a right hand that leaves Garcia sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Jabber!
