Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverman tries a head kick but it misses.

Okubo lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Okubo throws a nice looking combination but Silverman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Okubo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Silverman counters with a single leg into guard. Okubo didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Okubo is on top in guard.

Okubo slips nicely into half guard.
Okubo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silverman defends it well.
Okubo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Okubo connects with a nice short shot to Silverman's temple.

Okubo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silverman!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Okubo wants to control the pace but Silverman is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Okubo misses with a double jab
and Silverman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silverman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Okubo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Okubo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Silverman frees his head nicely. Oh but Okubo has switched to an armbar! Silverman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
