3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Guillermo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panyukov drives through with a takedown into guard. Diaz keeping full guard, as Panyukov tries to pass. Diaz controlling Panyukov's posture. Diaz trying to keep a closed guard but Panyukov is proving a slippery customer.
Panyukov throws a strike but Diaz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz won't allow Panyukov to sweep him here. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Panyukov holds on and takes a little breather. Diaz wants to control from the top but Panyukov keeps moving. Panyukov is controlling Diaz's posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Panyukov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Diaz quickly recovers to half guard. Diaz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Diaz is trying to stand.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Panyukov is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position. Panyukov wants to pass to mount but Diaz is defending the position. Panyukov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Diaz as Panyukov tries to tie him up. Panyukov is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Diaz has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Panyukov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet. Diaz wriggles free and stands up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Diaz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Panyukov! Diaz trying to control the position but Panyukov is working away. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Panyukov wants to control but Diaz is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Panyukov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Diaz pushes Panyukov off and scrambles back to his feet.
Panyukov gets caught napping as Diaz dives in and scores a takedown. Panyukov manages to retain guard. Guillermo Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far. Panyukov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Diaz postures up.

Panyukov is adopting a defensive guard. Panyukov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Diaz is pushing down on Panyukov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Panyukov is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Panyukov works his way to full guard. Good work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Panyukov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz passes Panyukov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Guillermo Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Panyukov pulls Diaz in close to prevent any damage. Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panyukov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Panyukov has control of Diaz's left arm, preventing Diaz from doing any damage. Diaz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Panyukov wants to sweep but no luck. Panyukov looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Panyukov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Panyukov pulls Diaz in close to prevent any damage. Diaz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Diaz stopping the sweep attempt from Panyukov. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz wants to control from the top but Panyukov keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Panyukov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Panyukov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Panyukov throws a big right hand that misses. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Panyukov defends easily.
