Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yegor Klitschko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Hammet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammet is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Finger Eleven - Slow Chemical. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yegor Klitschko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gordon Hammet!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klitschko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hammet tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Klitschko defends well and Hammet ends up having to push Klitschko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hammet avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hammet changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Klitschko tries to avoid it but Hammet manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Klitschko to the ground. Klitschko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Klitschko throws a series of punches but Hammet avoids them all with ease.
Hammet drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Klitschko defends it well.

Hammet tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Klitschko swivels and escapes.
Yegor Klitschko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gordon Hammet.

and Klitschko counters with a three punch combo that has Hammet backing up. Hammet nods at Klitschko to acknowledge the strikes.
Klitschko pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hammet back to the cage. Klitschko follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Gordon Hammet has been cut.
Klitschko throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Good exchange - Klitschko coming out on top.
Klitschko changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hammet on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!

And Hammet tries to counter it with a takedown but Klitschko pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Hammet throws an overhand right that lands on Klitschko's shoulder, as Klitschko tries to avoid the shot.
Hammet takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Klitschko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hammet at a distance.

Klitschko avoids the head kick by Hammet.
Klitschko throws a right hand that Hammet ducks under and follows up with a left that Hammet also avoids with ease.
Klitschko works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

A looping hook to the body misses from Klitschko. Hammet does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hammet takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Klitschko tries a head kick but it misses.
Klitschko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hammet.
Hammet uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Klitschko.
Klitschko shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hammet eats them both and turns towards Klitschko to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Klitschko throws a head kick that misses.
Hammet tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Klitschko - that will leave a mark!
Klitschko throws a wild body kick that Hammet sees coming a mile off.
Hammet is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Hammet fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Klitschko. Those never looked like landing.

Hammet changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hammet smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Klitschko lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Klitschko fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hammet looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Klitschko is looking to wear down Hammet with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Klitschko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Klitschko digs a good body shot into Hammet's ribs.
Nice straight punches there by Klitschko. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Klitschko.
Hammet gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Klitschko.
Klitschko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Klitschko lands a glancing blow to the side of Hammet's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammet takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Klitschko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammet moves away.
Hammet drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Klitschko defends it well.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Hammet might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Klitschko has got the better of the exchanges.

Klitschko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hammet on the side of the head.

Hammet shoots in but Klitschko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Klitschko feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Hammet is still on wobbly legs! Can Klitschko finish him?
Klitschko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hammet moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Yegor Klitschko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hammet takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Klitschko throws an overhand right that drops Hammet like a sack of potatoes! Klitschko dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
