The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenji shoots in for a takedown but Walken shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kenji shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walken defends it nicely.

and Walken counters with a lovely straight right hand!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kenji is defended easily by Walken.
Walken throws out a counter right but Kenji avoids it with no problem.

Kenji drops back looking for a leg! Walken is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walken manages to kick Kenji off! Kenji jumps back into Walken's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kenji is looking to work some ground and pound but Walken has wrist control.
Kenji with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Walken really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kenji. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kenji postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Walken fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kenji, pushing him back against the cage.
Walken breaks the clinch.
Walken throws a leg kick but Kenji moved away.
Kenji keeps the fight on the outside.
Walken slaps away a takedown attempt from Kenji, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Walken tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kenji manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Walken looks to land a left hand but Kenji moved out of range nicely.
Walken scores with a leg kick.
Kenji on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Walken. Walken obviously looking to wear him down.
Kenji will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walken leaves Kenji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kenji fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Walken lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kenji shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Walken but Walken pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Walken lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kenji at a distance.
Walken scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice defenses there by Kenji.
Walken throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Walken. That snapped Kenji's head back.
Walken lands with a kick to the temple. Kenji shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kurokawa Kenji's cut is getting worse.
Walken throws a right hand that Kenji ducks under and follows up with a left that Kenji also avoids with ease.
Walken has closed the distance and engaged Kenji in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walken wants to get back to striking at distance but Kenji won't allow it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kenji takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Walken pulls out of a head kick attempt.
