Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myron Ayala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keyser Soze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keyser Soze is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Myron Ayala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keyser Soze!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Soze.


It looks like Myron Ayala has been cut.

Ayala gets caught napping as Soze dives in and scores a takedown. Ayala manages to retain guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Soze throws a big right hand that misses.
Soze trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ayala is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ayala is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ayala has his foot on Soze's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soze works his way back into a safe position though.

Soze throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Soze would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Soze has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ayala regains guard immediately.
Ayala working a defensive guard but Soze manages to pass into side control anyway.
Ayala can't do much from the bottom here.

Soze tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Soze has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Soze is looking to take a break and control but Ayala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ayala is trying to control Soze's posture but Soze avoids it.
Ayala manages to work his way to half guard, despite Soze's best efforts.
Soze trying to control the action but Ayala is working from the bottom.
Ayala keeping hold of Soze's head, controlling as best he can.

Soze stops Ayala from getting back to his feet.
Soze missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ayala could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ayala kicks off Soze and gets to his feet.

Soze shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ayala manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ayala has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Soze has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Ayala pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Soze gets a clinch.

Ayala tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Ayala pulls guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Soze in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Soze wants to control from the top but Ayala keeps moving.
Soze is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ayala is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Soze pushes Ayala off and gets back to his feet.

Ayala darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ayala is breathing heavily.
Soze is looking to control Ayala's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Soze avoid being mounted?

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Soze. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
