Cornholio's entrance music is Du Hast by Ramstein - Cornholio Mix. A fine choice. Great Cornholio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Great Cornholio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Owen!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owen clinches up against the cage.
Owen looking to throw knees to the head but Cornholio is blocking nicely.

Cornholio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Owen fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cornholio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cornholio in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Owen wants to get back to his feet but Cornholio is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cornholio wants to control from the top but Owen keeps moving.
Cornholio keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Owen's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cornholio working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Cornholio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Owen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cornholio, into his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cornholio is on top in guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Owen wants to stand and escape but Cornholio is having none of it.

Cornholio thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cornholio makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Owen wants to stand up but Cornholio is controlling him.
Cornholio stands and throws Owen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cornholio lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.


Owen is rocked!

Cornholio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Owen, who protects the arm well.
Owen is still in real trouble! Can Cornholio finish him?
Owen is pushing Cornholio's head away, looking to escape. Cornholio manages to hold on to the position though.
Owen seems a little lost for a moment, as Cornholio dominates the positioning.

Cornholio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Owen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cornholio takes a little break here. Owen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Owen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cornholio is controlling him well.

Cornholio scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Owen is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Cornholio can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Great Cornholio!
An out of breath Great Cornholio thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
