Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zero Boxe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Laak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zero Boxe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Laak! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laak ducks right into an uppercut from Boxe. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Laak. Laak throws a right and a left that Boxe avoids nicely. Boxe throws a counter high kick but Laak was just alert enough to avoid it. Boxe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Laak to the mat! Laak manages to get full guard. Boxe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Boxe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Laak is trying to keep Boxe in close.
Boxe passes into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laak trying to control here.
Boxe is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxe controlling the action here. Laak wants to improve his position but Boxe is controlling well.
Boxe wants to work for an arm triangle but Laak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Laak tries to kick Boxe off but Boxe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Laak shoots and misses and Laak takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Laak shoots in and drives through. Boxe sprawls well. Zero Boxe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Laak.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boxe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Laak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Laak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boxe but Boxe pushes him off and we're back to square one. Laak shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Laak is looking to stand up but Boxe won't let him. Boxe wants to stand but Laak is controlling the position. Boxe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Laak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boxe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Laak gets in close and instigates a clinch. Boxe is trying to force a seperation but Laak has the dominant position. Laak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boxe is defended easily by Laak. Laak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Laak shoots for a takedown but Boxe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Laak tries to close the distance and clinch but Boxe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Laak fails with the takedown and Boxe counters by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laak looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Boxe stops a takedown attempt from Laak.
Laak has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Boxe wants a takedown but no success here.
Laak breaks the clinch.
Laak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boxe paws at him with a jab and circles away. Laak shoots in for a takedown but Boxe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Boxe half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Laak looks winded! Boxe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boxe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Laak pinned against the cage. Laak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zero Boxe dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Boxe has a takedown stuffed. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Laak is defended easily by Boxe. Laak tries to clinch but Boxe moves out of range. Boxe shoots in looking for a takedown. Laak tries to sprawl out of it but Boxe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Laak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laak gets a clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Laak.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Laak misses with the combination.
Laak darts in trying to clinch and Boxe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Laak's guard. Laak looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Laak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boxe's guard. Boxe looking for a sweep. Not yet Boxe, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boxe pushes Laak off and gets back to his feet.
Boxe has closed the distance and engaged Laak in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boxe drops down looking for an ankle pick but Laak pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zero Boxe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Boxe closes the distance and clinches. Boxe jumps guard but Laak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Laak jumps guard and drags Boxe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Boxe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laak is keeping the position for now. Laak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boxe is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boxe has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Laak to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Boxe is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Laak pulls down on the head and he's put Boxe to sleep! This one is all over!
