Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Pierre Smirnoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Smirnoff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Angel Santos! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smirnoff moves out of range of the body kick. Santos swats away the attempt to clinch by Smirnoff. Santos misses with a head kick.

It looks like Pierre Smirnoff has been cut. Santos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Santos looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Smirnoff wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance. Smirnoff throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smirnoff tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Santos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smirnoff.
Smirnoff looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Santos misses with the body kick letting Smirnoff counter with a right hand. Smirnoff rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Santos throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smirnoff on the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Smirnoff moves out of range easily. Smirnoff went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Smirnoff moves out of range of the body kick. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Smirnoff moves out of range easily. Santos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Smirnoff counters with a one-two to the body. A left and a right from Smirnoff both land. Nice combination. Santos lands with a kick to the temple. Smirnoff shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Santos throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Smirnoff's head. Smirnoff lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Smirnoff. Santos throws a body kick that misses. Smirnoff keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smirnoff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos. Santos tries a head kick but it misses.

Smirnoff throws a body shot but no joy. Smirnoff closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Santos crashing to the mat! Santos uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
It looks like Angel Santos has been cut. Smirnoff clinches with his opponent.

Santos is rocked! Santos throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Smirnoff finish him? As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santos misses with a head kick.
As Santos looks to move away, Smirnoff throws a big counter combo bu Santos just gets out of the way. Smirnoff throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Santos crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Pierre Smirnoff!
