Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gary Player (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Georges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Player comes into the arena with Kevin Gates feat. August Alsina - I Don't Get Tired blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gary Player! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Guy Georges! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Georges shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Player moves out of range as Georges strikes. Georges drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Gary Player seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Georges chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Player can pounce on him.
Georges misses with a straight right. A good leg kick by Player. Georges throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Player misses with a hook. A big right from Player misses. Player pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Player swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Georges counters with a shoot takedown. Player fights it but they end up in guard. Player is controlling Georges's posture. Player keeping moving, preventing Georges from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Georges throws a big right hand that misses. Georges postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Player definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Player has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Georges postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Player is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Georges, into his guard.
Georges had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Player defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Georges keeping moving, preventing Player from controlling successfully. Player has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Georges escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Player gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Georges not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Georges controls Player momentarily but Player frees himself. Georges is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Player defends well. Player seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Georges is looking for a guillotine. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Player stays in close to Georges's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Georges looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Georges has his foot on Player's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Player works his way back into a safe position though. Georges trying to keep a closed guard but Player is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Georges keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Player. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Georges swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Player defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Georges. Georges keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Player. Georges walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gary Player will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Player moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Georges moves out of range of the strikes. Player lands with a straight right. Georges didn't see that one coming. Player throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Georges on the side of the head. Player is looking to slow Georges down with leg kicks. Player scores with a jab. Georges acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Player works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Georges moves out of range of the strikes. Player is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Georges can do to turn this around? Georges loads up on a big right hand but Player slips the punch. Georges throws a good cross that connects.

Player scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Player takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Player walks into a stiff left hand from Georges. Player cracks Georges with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Georges throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Player counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Georges throws a hook to the side of Player's head but Player sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Player throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gary Player is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Georges misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Player.
Player scores with a nice head shot. Georges takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Player throws a low kick but it's checked well by Georges. Georges lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Georges smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Decent striking displayed by Player there. Georges bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Player's head. Player scores with a jab to the jaw. Georges uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Georges takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Georges throws a body punch but Player moves out of range. Georges takes a swing at Player's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Georges blocks a low kick nicely. Georges lands with an uppercut that bounces Player off the cage and back into range. Georges rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

A big left from Player misses. Georges uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Player. A slow jab from Player misses its intended target. Player throws a nice inside leg kick. Georges looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Georges takes a body punch but keeps moving. Georges looks to score with a jab to the body but Player is just out of range. Player throws a poor cross that misses
and Georges counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Georges postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Player is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Georges, into his guard.

Georges is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Georges looking for submissions from the bottom here. Player is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Player wants to control from the top but Georges keeps moving. Player works a leg free and moves into half guard. Georges looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Player seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Georges is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Player pulls his head out easily. Georges is not content to let Player control the position. Player throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Player dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Player misses with a looping right. Georges misses with a hook. A little feinted left hand from Player on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Georges slips a straight right by Player. Georges is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Player takes a jab right on the kisser.
Georges tries for a takedown but Player sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A thudding body kick lands there by Player!
Georges lands with an uppercut that bounces Player off the cage and back into range. Player lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Player staying out of range there. Player dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Player counters with a stiff right hand. Georges throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Georges takes one to the side of the head.
Georges looks to land a left hand but Player moved out of range nicely. Georges throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Player to counter with a crisp jab. Player feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Georges's calf. Georges throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Player connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Player turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Player cracks the inside of Georges's front leg. Georges takes one to the chin there. Georges uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Player. A leg kick checked by Georges. Georges darts in and out, connecting with a jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A big right from Player misses. It seemed like Georges was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Player throws a leg kick which misses Georges's front leg but catches the back leg as Georges tries to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Georges throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Georges is rocked! Georges closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Player to the mat! Player manages to get full guard. Georges stands and throws Player's legs to the side, diving into side control. Player manages to work his way to half guard, despite Georges's best efforts. Player makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Player. Georges trying to control but Player is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Georges controlling from the top position. Georges trying to control the position from guard on top but Player is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Georges in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Georges stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Player swivels though and keeps the full guard. Georges trying to control the position from guard on top but Player is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Georges has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Georges misses with a straight left. The fighters circle momentarily. Player darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Player takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Player thows a left - swing and a miss! Georges throws a lazy uppercut
and Player counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Player lands with a good body shot. Player missing with a left hand there. Georges was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Player connects with a single shot there. Guy Georges has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Player, right into the meat.
And that's the end of the fight! Gary Player showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Player, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
