Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Richer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Belanger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Belanger!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richer clinches.
Richer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Belanger gets underhooks to prevent Richer's takedown attempt.
Belanger avoids the elbow strike from Richer, against the cage.
Richer works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Belanger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Richer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Richer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Richer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Belanger is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Belanger has escaped and now he's on top!
Belanger wants to pass the guard but Richer is keeping the position.
Richer has his foot on Belanger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Belanger works his way back into a safe position though.
