Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Hoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Dusk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dusk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. John Hoop could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Drake Dusk's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Hoop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drake Dusk! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoop slaps away a takedown attempt from Dusk, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dusk moves into the clinch. Dusk blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hoop is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dusk is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hoop to the mat. Hoop regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Hoop is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dusk works a leg free and moves into half guard. Dusk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dusk is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hoop has managed to free his arm - good work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoop tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Dusk manages to move to mount!
Hoop really wants to buck Dusk off and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. My spies in The Iron Palace inform me that Dusk has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dusk is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hoop is surviving well by controlling Dusk's body position as best he can. Hoop squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Dusk jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hoop manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dusk scoring with punches and elbows. Hoop is pushing Dusk's head away, looking to escape. Dusk manages to hold on to the position though. Dusk landing strikes. Hoop pushes Dusk away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dusk gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Dusk cracks Hoop with a big elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dusk landing a few strikes. Hoop is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoop trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Dusk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hoop is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Dusk trying to control the position but Hoop is working away. Dusk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hoop is trying to get back to his feet. Dusk is working Hoop over with some ground and pound from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoop is looking to get back to his feet here but Dusk is keeping cool and he's managed to take Hoop's back. Hoop takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Hoop is trying to stand back up. Dusk throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Hoop!

Dusk lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Dusk is loading up with his shots from the back and Hoop is in big trouble! Hoop taps out to strikes and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Drake Dusk! After winning the bout, Drake Dusk thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
