Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hong Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manie Maritz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hong Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manie Maritz!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gregory looking to score a takedown here. Maritz is defending well but Gregory drives through and ends up in Maritz's guard.
Maritz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Gregory stopping the sweep attempt from Maritz.

Gregory could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maritz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maritz misses with a few strikes there.

Maritz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Maritz won't allow Gregory to sweep him here.

A close round but Manie Maritz will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maritz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Maritz throws a strike but Gregory rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Maritz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hong Gregory is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Maritz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gregory to the ground. Maritz is now in Gregory's guard.
Gregory has a closed guard, preventing Maritz from standing up.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Maritz. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A looping hook to the body misses from Maritz. Gregory does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gregory tests Maritz's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Maritz has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manie Maritz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Maritz has picked Gregory up - he's going for a ride! Maritz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Maritz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gregory is pressing down on Maritz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Maritz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gregory swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Manie Maritz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gregory has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Maritz has passed into side control.
Maritz advances to full mount.
Maritz thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Maritz controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Maritz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gregory sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gregory is looking for a sweep. Maritz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maritz is looking to stall here but Gregory recovers full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hong Gregory has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Manie Maritz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Maritz cracks Gregory with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

And that's the end of the fight!
Manie Maritz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Maritz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
