Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rayjay Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Black Betty. John Johnson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rayjay Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Johnson! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carter somewhat. We've been told by Carter's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Carter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carter gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut. Johnson pushes Carter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnson keeps control of Carter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Johnson has picked Carter up - he's going for a ride! Johnson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Carter is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Carter trying to control from the bottom.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Carter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson trying to control the pace. Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carter defends it well. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it. Carter wants to get back to full guard. Carter is trying to stand up here but Johnson is controlling him well. Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carter sees it coming and defends easily. Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Carter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold. Johnson is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is working for a kimura but Carter is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Carter wants to get back to full guard. Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carter sees it coming and defends easily. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Johnson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though. Carter wants to get back to full guard. Carter gets back to full guard.

Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson slips nicely into half guard.

Johnson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Carter manages to avoid the submission attempt. Johnson advances to mount. Carter is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter has given up his back. Will we see Johnson going for some submissions?
Carter wants to get back to his feet. Johnson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Carter taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Johnson.
