Moxson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Zombie by Cranberries. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy McLarnin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Moxson! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moxson throws a quick inside leg kick. Moxson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Moxson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Moxson's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLarnin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Moxson is one step ahead there. McLarnin wants to hit a switch here but Moxson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for McLarnin there! Moxson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McLarnin is surviving well by controlling Moxson's body position as best he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moxson lands a heavy elbow. McLarnin working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moxson looking to control but McLarnin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Moxson controlling from mount. Moxson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Moxson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
McLarnin is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLarnin is working hard here to advance position. McLarnin's coaches at Roosters Coop have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Moxson raining down hammerfists from mount. Moxson avoids the attempt from McLarnin to control. Moxson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Moxson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
You get the feeling that McLarnin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moxson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Moxson!
