Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Datysuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Child's entrance music is VooDoo Child. A fine choice. Pavel Datysuk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Datysuk forces Child back against the cage and clinches.
Child looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Child landing knees to the body.

Datysuk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Child swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Datysuk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Child is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Datysuk wants to control from the top but Child keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

I was talking to Child's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Datysuk looks winded!
Child gets underhooks to prevent Datysuk's takedown attempt.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Datysuk has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Child lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Child escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Child slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Child cracks Datysuk with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Child has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Datysuk to stand back up!
Datysuk is rocked!
Marcus Child seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Datysuk gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Child points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Datysuk wakes up just in time to hear Child thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marcus Child!
