Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Jose Mera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Young One!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? One is fending him off so far but Mera persists. Nope, One circles away and we're back to standing.
Mera with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling One to score with a decent uppercut.
Mera fails with the takedown

and One holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

One breaks the clinch.
One takes a swing at Mera's ribcage but misses.
One throws a body shot but no joy.
Mera is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mera.
Mera prevents One from escaping the position.
One manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mera's best efforts.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
One trying to control here.
One is in trouble now - Mera has advanced to mount!

Mera fails to move to back control.
Mera trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mera wants to take his opponent's back but One doesn't allow it.
Mera scoring with strikes but One is staying in there.
One is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mera swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and One is now in Mera's guard. A big mistake from Mera there, giving up the dominant position!
One wanted to stand there but Mera had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

One gets to his feet - Mera follows without any prompting.
A right-left combo lands from Mera.

One moves into the clinch.
One stops a takedown attempt from Mera.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Mera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
One putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mera in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mera blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
One tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mera avoids it.
Mera tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. One just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mera jumps guard but One stands there with Mera around his waist. Mera gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

One wants to stand but Mera has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Mera uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Mera lands with a right hand.
One missing with a left hand there. Mera was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mera looks for a takedown but One sprawls well.

Mera has One up against the cage in a clinch.
One utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
One scores a nice knee to the body.
Mera misses with the head strike.
Knees to the body from One.
One scores a nice knee to the body.
Mera is breathing heavily.
One with a knee to the head.
One lands an elbow that stopped Mera in his tracks for a moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

One scores a nice knee to the body.
One unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mera lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

One tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

One breaks the clinch.
One connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mera momentarily.
One fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

One has taken the fight to the clinch.
One with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

One escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
One throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mera blocks a jab.
Mera gets cracked with a nice right hand there by One.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
One just misses with a punch to the body.

One tries to keep at a distance but Mera has taken the fight into the clinch.
One throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Young One dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Mera dips to his left and cracks One with an uppercut!
One has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mera throws a shot from downtown. One moves away and avoids it.
One lunges at Mera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mera's hand.
One throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mera misses with a takedown attempt
and One counters with a nice body shot.
Mera slips a jab from One.
Mera fails with the takedown.
It seemed like One was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mera takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
One stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Mera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
One swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mera shoots in for a takedown but One shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mera forces One back against the cage and clinches.

One pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mera tries for a takedown but One manages to get underhooks.
Mera fails to pull the fight into his guard.
One lands a good knee to the midsection. Mera won't want to take too many of those.

One with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Mera takes a knee right on the jaw!
One looks to throw an elbow but misses.
One lands a nice uppercut.

Mera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and One counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mera thinking.
One lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Young One seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mera avoids the body shot from One.
Young One is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jab, jab by One - just one landing.
