1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksander Nemokov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buck Scrample! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scrample stuffs the takedown. Nemokov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A head kick misses from Nemokov. Nemokov closes the distance and clinches. Nemokov tries to score a body lock takedown but Scrample shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Nemokov is breathing heavily. Nemokov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Scrample is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nemokov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Scrample is trying to trip Nemokov. He has hold of a leg but Nemokov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Scrample persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Scrample slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nemokov looking to control.
Nemokov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nemokov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Scrample lands a couple of digs. Scrample forces his way into half guard. Scrample wants to take a breather but Nemokov is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scrample is looking to advance position but Nemokov won't allow it. Scrample is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Scrample stalling. Scrample wants to pass to mount but Nemokov is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Still in half guard, Scrample seems content to control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nemokov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scrample tries to avoid it but Nemokov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scrample to the ground. Scrample escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksander Nemokov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scrample fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scrample has Nemokov up against the cage in a clinch.
Scrample keeps control of Nemokov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Scrample tightens his grip and picks Nemokov up, before dumping him to the ground. Nemokov manages to land in guard. Scrample tries to free his leg and advance position but Nemokov is retaining full guard. Nemokov manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nemokov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Nemokov is looking to improve his position but Scrample isn't that keen on the idea. Nemokov swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Scrample controlling his opponent. Scrample trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nemokov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nemokov tries to get out of the position. BOOM! Scrample connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Scrample can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nemokov is looking to escape. BOOM! Scrample connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nemokov is trying desperately to improve position. Scrample tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Nemokov is desperately trying to improve his position but Scrample has a good base and remains in mount. Scrample controlling from mount. Nemokov tries to hold on but Scrample pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Buck Scrample dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Nemokov. No joy for Scrample on that attempt. Nemokov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Scrample counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nemokov tries to get to full guard but Scrample has control of the leg. Still in half guard, Scrample seems content to control. Nemokov flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Scrample scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nemokov moves into full guard.

Buck Scrample has got the better of the ground game so far. Scrample with a nice head shot there. Nemokov wants to stand up but Scrample is controlling him. Nemokov scores with a nice shot. Scrample postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nemokov had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Scrample is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nemokov Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Scrample's back instead. Nemokov scores with punches to the body. Scrample wants to control his opponent's hands but Nemokov gets his hands free. Nemokov lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Scrample rolls, trying to escape but Nemokov keeps control of the position.

Nemokov with shots to the head and body - Scrample looks very uncomfortable down there. Nemokov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nemokov lands a big shot there that rocks Scrample but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nemokov has hold of Scrample's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Scrample manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Buck Scrample showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Scrample scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Scrample in side control lands a decent elbow. Scrample in side control, just content to control the action for now. Scrample is looking to take a break and control but Nemokov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Scrample is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nemokov tries to buck Scrample off but Scrample is having none of it.

Nemokov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Scrample's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Scrample's back! Nemokov not allowing Scrample to control his hands. Nemokov lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Scrample tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Scrample swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nemokov avoids the attempt from Scrample to control. Scrample is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nemokov is staying active. Nemokov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Nemokov lands with some strikes. Scrample is wriggling around trying to escape.
Scrample really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nemokov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nemokov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Scrample's face.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nemokov is in the full mount, landing strikes. Nemokov has control of Scrample's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Scrample regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Scrample is desperately trying to improve his position but Nemokov has a good base and remains in mount. Nemokov lands a heavy elbow. Scrample working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Scrample throwing hammer fists to the chest of Nemokov. What's that going to do exactly? Nemokov avoids the attempt from Scrample to control. Scrample working to try and regain half guard.
Scrample tries to lock up and control but Nemokov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Buck Scrample is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nemokov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Nemokov connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Scrample is working to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aleksander Nemokov. I think Scrample has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
