The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzgerald throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oneill's waist but Oneill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fitzgerald off to one side.

Fitzgerald closes the distance and clinches.

Oneill sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Horrible takedown attempt by Oneill or perhaps it was just good defense by Fitzgerald, which made it look bad.

and Oneill counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fitzgerald wants to stand and escape but Oneill is having none of it.

Fitzgerald bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Oneill's guard.
