Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dre Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akseli Suokuokka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suokuokka has chosen The Bags - Cavemen Rejoice as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dre Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akseli Suokuokka!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker looks to land a combination but Suokuokka avoids it well.

Parker sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Suokuokka to the ground! Parker dives into full mount looking to finish!


It looks like Akseli Suokuokka has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Suokuokka can't escape the position.
Suokuokka tries to hold on but Parker postures up.
Suokuokka is trying to escape the mount.
Suokuokka wants to hold on but Parker pushes him away.
Suokuokka is trying desperately to improve position.
Suokuokka bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Parker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Suokuokka dives in and grabs Parker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes down on Suokuokka's head and hops out.

Suokuokka lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Parker backwards.
Suokuokka lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Suokuokka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Parker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suokuokka.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Parker throws a right and a left that Suokuokka avoids nicely.
We've been told by Parker's head coaches at Madz **21 Elite coaches** that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Suokuokka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parker looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Suokuokka tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Suokuokka misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Suokuokka creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Parker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Suokuokka wants to take a breather but Parker manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Suokuokka.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Parker manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Suokuokka blocks a head kick by Parker.

Parker tries to keep at a distance but Suokuokka has taken the fight into the clinch.

Suokuokka softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Suokuokka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Suokuokka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Suokuokka doesn't manage to clinch there - Parker circles away.
Suokuokka dodges the punch combination from Parker.
Suokuokka tries to clinch there but Parker circles away.
Suokuokka blocks a head kick by Parker.

Suokuokka keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Parker's efforts to push away.
Suokuokka pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Parker throws a right and a left that Suokuokka avoids nicely.
Parker swats away the attempt to clinch by Suokuokka.
Parker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Suokuokka wants to clinch up but Parker keeps it at a distance.
Suokuokka tries to close the distance and clinch but Parker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It looked like Parker was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Suokuokka is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Parker's half guard.

Parker throws a left that rocks Suokuokka and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Parker dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Suokuokka regain composure!

Parker leaves Suokuokka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Suokuokka throws a push kick but Parker slaps the foot to one side.
Parker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Suokuokka fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Dre Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Parker, as that shot connected.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Parker tries to circle away but Suokuokka has him pinned against the cage.
Parker on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Suokuokka jumps guard but Parker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Suokuokka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dre Parker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Suokuokka slips a jab and a cross from Parker.
Parker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Suokuokka doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Suokuokka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dre Parker.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
